I have bad knees. Is this class going to hurt?
Not even a little bit. Protecting your joints is the entire reason this class exists. We skip all the jumping and harsh impacts entirely. And hey, if your knees start acting up while you’re standing, our trainers will quickly show you how to do the exact same stretches right from a chair.
Is it too late for me to start exercising?
Not a chance! We welcome folks in their sixties, seventies, and well into their eighties every week. The trainers keep the tempo super slow and comfortable. We meet you exactly where you are today and just aim to make you a tiny bit stronger by next week.
Will doing this actually prevent me from falling?
Yes, and helping you stay on your feet is a massive priority for us. Honestly, a lot of trips and falls simply happen because the muscles in our stomach and legs tend to get a bit weaker over the years. We specifically practice gentle balancing drills that rebuild that foundation. Pretty soon, you will notice you feel much more planted and secure when you are out walking.
Do I need any complicated gym machines at home for the online sessions?
You completely skip the need for expensive gym gear. If you are joining us online, grab a solid dining chair to help you balance and maybe a couple of water bottles for light weights. Our coaches will walk you through a wonderful, safe workout while you stay comfortable right there at home.
What happens if I fall behind the rest of the group?
Please let that worry go. We aren’t running a race here, and no one is watching your speed. You should always move at whatever tempo feels right for you on that specific day. If you want to grab a seat, take a sip of water, and just watch for a minute, please do! We just want you moving in a way that brings you comfort.
